British beverage can maker Rexam has partnered with Smirnoff Ice to launch a limited edition of the drink in its aluminium FUSION bottle.

The 11oz aluminium FUSION bottles feature HD printing, a technique which allows the print of highly detailed images and are the lightest bottles in the South American market, the company claims.

Manufactured in Rexam's Ejpovice site in Czech Republic and filled in Brazil, the bottles are already available in supermarkets and nightclubs across Brazil.

Commenting on the packaging, Rexam South America Commercial manager Jalber Nunes said that the aluminium bottle is 100% and infinitely recyclable, and can be back on supermarket shelves in as little as 30 days after being recycled.

"The new generation of consumers not only look for more customized products, but they also want to invest in green initiatives. This is surely a type of packaging that is in tune with future trends," added Nunes.

Rexam offers packaging solutions for beverage and healthcare markets. The company offers beverage packaging solutions, including aluminum and steel beverage cans for packing beer, fizzy drinks, juices, sports and energy drinks, water, wine, spirit mixers, and iced coffee.
