Aluminum Corp of China Ltd (Chalco) said its 280,000 ton capacity Huaze plant will suffer output cuts of 25 pct and the 220,000-ton capacity Huasheng plant will see output cut by 22 pct due to power shortages.
Chalco said the two facilities in Shanxi province began operating under reduced output on June 26.Investor relations manager Zhang Qing told XFN-Asia that none of Chalco's other plants in China face cutbacks.
"It's only a problem worth noting at the two Shanxi plants. We are not free to boost power there due to (electricity) shortages and quotas," Zhang said.At 2:12 pm, Hong Kong-listed Chalco was up 1.3 pct at 8.73 hkd.
