China to Increase Aluminum Foil Production

Chinese news reports are noting that the Lanzhou Aluminum Co will increase production of aluminum foil used in food and pharmaceutical production after the company is purchased by Chalco.

    Chalco plans to expand sales and production through a new production line with an annual capacity of 50,000 metric tons. The production line could be on-line by May according to company officials. China's demand for aluminum foil, spurred by increased use in packaged consumer products, is expected to grow as much as 15% percent a year by 2010.
