Hard to practice output cut of eletrolyse aluminium

Latterly, 20 major electrolyse aluminium producers promised to restrain their output. According to Trade Metals, however, possibility to practice the plan is tender.

According to sources, output of the companies involved accounted for 71.3 pct of the country¡¯s total aluminium output from January to May this year. If this cut lasts to the end of 2008, China will produce 198 thousand T to 396 thousand T lesser in this year.

Besides, according to sources, its still unknown whether the companies involved is going to implement the plan consciously. It¡¯s probably that the companies will postpone new projects in order to avoid electricity shortage.
