Chinalco Pause Malaysia Aluminum Smelting Project

(China Aluminum Network) The spokeman from Chinalco said on Tuesday pause the Malaysia smelting project which valued more than 1 billion dollars.

The spokeman told reporter that the project has already stopped now.

Chinalco and Gulf International Investment signed a framework agreement in 2010, took part in the construction of aluminum smelting project in Sarawak, Malaysia to make full use of local cheap power price.

Chinalco website stated this project can produce 370 thousand tons every year.

The spokeman also said that incomplete preparatory work caused suspension.
