China eliminates 260,000 tons laggard capacity of electrolytic aluminum

Recently, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the list of eliminated laggard capacity enterprises in 19 industry sectors, involving alumina, electrolytic aluminum and other industries.

According to the list, the eliminated electrolytic aluminum totaled 260,000 tons. Meanwhile, the Ministry strives for shutting down the laggard capacity on the list before the end of September, and makes sure to completely eliminate before the end of this year. The measure may accelerate the speed of the elimination of laggard capacity in the aluminum industry.

Compared with the current capacity up to 24 million tons, the 260,000 tons laggard capacity amounts to little, but at least, it works in the market.
