The Attitude of Chinese Aluminum Manufactures on Production Reduction

(China Aluminum Network) Although Chinese government hopes aluminum manufactures can reduce production to help release global aluminum oversupply situation, while China’s light metal production still on the increase.
For example, CHG plans to increase its capacity to 2700 thousand tons at the end of 2014, said the new contracts should signed before the construction of new production line. CHG stated their capacity will up 10% in 2013 reply on the advanced technology.
Other aluminum manufactures in China all claimed they have no intention to reduce production with determined stands.
RUSAL and Alcoa all stated need to cut down production, as well as Chinalco once said it will suspend 9-10% of capacity. Last year, Chinese aluminum capacity was 27000 thousand tons, while the actual consumption was 19000 thousand tons.
