According to sources, 20 smelters in China decided to cut production to 5-10% from July to support the price of primary aluminium and reduce electricity consumption.
These 20 smelters, including Chalco, account for 71.3% of the country’s aluminium output.
How long will the reduction plan last is still unknown.
