BOSAI Minerals, the Chinese bauxite company operating in Linden, has rented three generator sets to resume production and provide electricity to the town, the company said in a brief update.
A company spokeswoman said that the town- Mackenzie and Wismar- was likely to experience some power outages during peak consumption between 6 PM and 10 PM.
“This is due to the amount of load the community use during this time which is over 6.6 megawatts,” she said.
The three Caterpillar generator sets were rented from MACORP to power the plant and mines while at the same time supplying businesses and residences in the town.
BOSAI hopes that the situation will return to normalcy as soon as the two damaged generator sets are repaired and reactivated.
Two generator sets were damaged last week, resulting in BOSAI ceasing bauxite ore processing to divert power to the community.
