Spot Alumina Price in China Down to 2530 Yuan/Ton

(China Aluminum Network) The Platts price of Henan produced alumina was dropped further to 2530 Yuan/Ton on Tuesday.

Compare with previous 2520 Yuan/Ton-2530 Yuan/Ton, the spot price was also dropped slightly, around 2500 Yuan/Ton.

A smelter in Henan said though the offer price was maintained at 2540 Yuan/Ton-2550 Yuan/Ton, in real transaction the above prices were scarcely possible to reach agreements. Now the trade price was kept at 2520 Yuan/Ton-2530 Yuan/Ton, the spot price was about 2500 Yuan/Ton.

Another smelter said they were never heard the spot price will lower than 2500 Yuan/Ton; it can not be rule out owing to market downturn.

The status quo of alumina made aluminum price depressed all the way. Since the expectation of aluminum price will drop further, some key traders even sold products at low prices.
