China Aluminum Market Will be More Stable in 2013

(China Aluminum Network) Rusal said China aluminum market will be more stable in 2013; strong demand will help to digest increased supply.

In its Q1 products report China with strong demand, expected will up 11% compared with 2012, owing to strengthened capital assets and infrastructure investment.

In terms of supply, Rusal said 38% of Chinese products in the first quarter were unprofitable; the output also decreased 780 thousand tons, but another new 810 thousand tons capacity will start soon in this quarter. Therefore, the company expected China aluminum market will be more stable in 2013. On the other hand, lower aluminum price and higher domestic stock may limited the increase pace of supply.
