Sluggish Primary Aluminum Demand Leaded to Price Indices Fall

(China Aluminum Network) It was reported that global and Chinese manufacturers were all cut production, but professionals did not expected global primary aluminum market will keep balance between supply and demand, since energy supply contract between aluminum smelters and energy suppliers always appeared problems.

The industry also worried about aluminum demand was shrunk; China and America’s production in March was lower than market expectation and total unemployment increased as well. Demand in Europe was even worse.

London Metal Exchange (LME) closing price was $1910/ton during three months, dropped 5.3%, spot price decreased 4.6% to $1881/ton. India spot aluminum price dropped 1.9%, European 5083 aluminum sheet and 1050 aluminum also decreased slightly.

Chinese aluminum scrap price dropped in last month but rebounded 2.2%, aluminum ingot price decreased in last month then rebounded 0.3%, spot aluminum price also increased 0.3%.
