Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba)'s commitment to highlight Bahrain's reputation as a key hub for golf tournaments gained pace with its sponsorship support for the ten-day Festival of Golf held in celebration of Awali Golf Club's 75th anniversary.
The Festival of Golf was held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The ten-day event included the prestigious Bahrain Open and Bahrain Ladies Open championships, the Captain's Invitational, Mixed Open, Corporate Day Pro Am tournament, and culminated with a gala dinner and dance on Saturday, April 6, 2013.

Two teams from Alba participated in the Corporate ProAm tournament and reached third and fourth place respectively. Team A comprised Abdulrahman Amin, Marius Esterhuizen, Chris Kelby and Ali Al Shaer. Team B included Rob Lane, Ateeq Mujali, Rashid Al Qutaimi and Salah Al Shaer.

Commenting on Alba's sponsorship support for the ten-day Festival of Golf, Alba's Strategic Supply & Planning Manager, Marius Esterhuizen said:
"Alba would like to congratulate the management and members of the Awali Golf Club on their 75th anniversary, and also, for the added achievement of being the oldest golf course in the region. The Awali Golf Club has played a foundational role in building a strong following for golf in Bahrain and in raising the kingdom's profile as a golfing destination. Our sponsorship of the Festival of Golf reinforces our continuing support for a variety of sports across Bahrain and in strengthening the sporting culture within the kingdom."

Alba consistently provides financial backing to sporting tournaments in Bahrain and across the region as a tangible demonstration of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
