Alumina Import Volume Incresed 8.89% in Jan.

(China Aluminum Network) According to the data from China Custom in January China imported 490 thousand tons of alumina totally, increased 8.89% year to year and 25.64% month on month. Alumina import volume continued increasing from the end of 2012, owing to domestic electrolytic aluminium enterprises stock up before Spring Festival support the increasing of gross alumina import volume.
After February, Australian market alumina supply was affected by rainstorm and flood, suffered tight condition for the time being. Moreover, LME electrolytic aluminium price stayed in high position, Australian alumina FOB price increased largely. Domestic alumina price still maintained at 2500-2650 Yuan/Ton. In addition, domestic newly built alumina capacity put into operation in succession which eased tight market condition caused by electrolytic aluminium enterprises stock up before the Spring Festival.
Domestic and imported alumina price was divided leaded the growth of port alumina stock. From the end of January to the beginning of February, port alumina trade vitality dropped obviously.
