2012 Alumina Price Strong Outside Weak Inside

(China Aluminum Network) According to the statistics, domestic alumina average transaction price was dropped from 2,649 yuan/ton in January to 2,598 yuan/ton in December in 2012, decreased 1.96%. While the imported alumina price was relative strong, the whole transaction center was up from 311 USD/Ton in January to 331 USD/Ton in December, increased 6.43%.

The increasing of import volume in China drove the recovery of imported alumina price. From January to November in 2012 China has imported 4,270 thousand tons of alumina from Australia increased 163% yoy. Besides 23 USD/Ton of freight and insurance, China CIF price was 349 USD/Ton in November, FOB price was 326 USD/Ton, accounted for 16.75% of the LME average aluminum price.

In 2013, domestic alumina price will continue keep pace with aluminum price, weak aluminum price will limited alumina price.
