    2011 Completed Backward Production Elimination, Electrolytic Aluminium Outperformed

    (China Aluminum Network) Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) published the performance of eliminating backward production in 2011. Last year, the whole nation has finished target task.


    When compared with the situation in industry field which was released in July 2011 can figure out that 2011 has eliminated 639 thousand tons of backward electrolytic aluminium capacity, 20 thousand tons more than the planned target (619 thousand tons).


    According to the data, Gansu, Hubei and Shanxi were the top three provinces eliminated 170, 107 and 98.1 thousand tons respectively, occupied 58.7% of the total amount. Henan and Shandong which are the electrolytic aluminium industry giants eliminated 48 and 50 thousand tons respectively last year.


    The data also showed the country has eliminated 425 thousand tons of copper smelting, 661 thousand tons of lead smelting and 338 thousand tons of zinc smelting, all in accordance with the target task.
