Luo Tao, general manager and chairman of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co.,Ltd (CNMC), paid a 3-day visit to Laos at the invitation of Bouasone Bouphavanh, the premier of Laos.

They held a meeting over bauxite projects of CNMC in Laos and other related subjects. In the meeting, Bouasone expressed his warm welcome to the Chinese delegation, and said that Laos has been concerned about the Wenchuan earthquake and it is Laotian government’s bound duty to aid China.

After Luo Tao introduced the progress of the bauxite projects in Laos, the premier was quite satisfied with the projects and expecting more investments from CNMC.

Besides, Bouasone hoped CNMC would fulfill its social responsibilities as well as environment protection during the projects.

The talk had been reported by three Laotian newspapers on the front page.

By this visit, CNMC has enlarged its reputation in Laos and got a deep knowledge of nonferrous mineral resources, laws and policies of Laos, which will help to promote the resource development project of bauxite in Laos.
