Magnesium Content Mensuration of Aluminum Alloy of Southwest Aluminum Awarded First International Invention Patents

(China Aluminum Network) Through four years’ efforts of technicians, magnesium content mensuration from Southwest Aluminum Group was awarded invention patent by U.S American Patent & Trademark Office. The patent was the first international patent of Southwest Aluminum Group.

It is said people always adopt EDTA to measure magnesium content in aluminum processing. The mature measuration includes copper method and potassium cyanide method. However, copper method is complicated and cost long time to analyze. Meanwhile, potassium cyanide method belongs to high toxic drugs, which has safety hazard and environment pollution. In hence, we must find a non-toxic method for rapid determination of magnesium content is the key and important issues of technicians.

For several years, the leaders supported the research, especially in recent years, technicians of casting plant searched and innovated adhering to the traditional methods and amount of tests.
