China Alumina Capacity May Achieve 54,490 Thousand Tons

(China Aluminum Network) Since global economic growth has slowed down in 2012, the ocean freight was unlikely to increase. While most Chinese bauxite importers have signed long term cooperation agreement with expoters of relative stable price, but confronted with tight bauxite supply situation in the world, bauxite FOB price may grow slightly in next year for Chinese bauxite importers.

According to the survey, experts expected that the built alumina capacity may achieve 54,490 thousand tons in 2012, 7,700 thousand tons for newly added capacity, but still remained imported bauxite projects under construction, imported bauxite will keep high level.
