Chinalco Zhongzhou Branch Metallurgical Grade Alumina Project May Start Operation Next Year

(China Aluminum Network) It is learned that the designed annual capacity of Xingxian alumina project was 800 thousand tons, equipped with 990 thousand ton/year bauxite, the planned construction period was 2 years. The purpose of Chinalco’s fund raising was to expand alumina capacity. Chinalco revealed adjustment scheme of private placement A-shares, the announcement showed the funds (deduct issue expenses) will used for Xingxian alumina project, Zhongzhou mineral separation Bayer process expansion project and supply working capital, these three projects were planned to invest 4.7, 1.3 and 2.0 billion yuan respectively.

Zhangzhou Branch’s mineral separation Bayer process expansion project was located at Wuxiu County, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, the construction content included two Bayer process production lines, equipped with 2 sets of 3kwp thermoelectric units. At the same time, the construction period of 1,250 thousand tons mine facilities was 2 years, included mineral separation, alumina plant, steam power plant, gas station, water works, railway and outside projects. This project will form alumina production capacity of 700 thousand tons per year, half of the capacity can put into operation within 1 year.
