    Aluminum Scrap Supply Volume May Increase 6.1% in 2012

    (China Aluminum Nteowork) On the Cast Aluminum Alloy Industry Chain Summit which was held days before, aluminum industry analysts expected China aluminum scrap supply volume may keep steady increase about 6.1%.


    Most of the cast aluminum alloy enterprises were secondary aluminium enterprises focused on the purchase of aluminum scrap. China aluminum scrap supply volume reached 6,030 thousand tons, while imported aluminum scrap occupied 49%. Developed countries are the key sources of imported aluminum scrap, Australia and Malaysia occupied 11.3% and 11.7% respectively. Hongkong is the key transfer station of imported aluminum scrap in China occupied 34.1% of the total import volume.


    Primary aluminum price kept rising in recent days. According to the statistics, aluminum price with a 100-200 yuan/ton rise since September. Enterprises of high cost of material with limited room for price rise owing to weak consumption in downstream industry. The transaction price of aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 only increased about 100 yuan/ton, cast aluminum alloy enterprises still with slight profits.
