(China Aluminum Network) At present, China faced with the vital task of energy consumption reduction, lessen environmental contamination and save limited resources, thus need to advocate light weight of cars. As current situation, Chinese light metal casting market will largely developed within next decade.
Each country’s aluminum and magnesium alloy casting proportion was about 13-19%, Italy was over 30-40%, while China was less than 10%. Over 90% aluminum alloy casting in developed countries were used in automobile parts manufacture. If aluminum alloy casting want to form large-scale production and meet the demand of light weight cars, China needs to solve lots of problems. First of all, automobile required thin-wall, complex shape, high strength and high-quality aluminum castings. In order to adapt such requirements, China needs to optimize foundry technology further and conducts the development of new alloy material.
Secondly, should use computer analog technology to shorten the development period of process program. Also should expand aluminum recycling. Secondary aluminium is the main raw material for aluminum casting, China should pay attention to the utilization of secondary aluminium resources while developing casting industry, establish wide scrap recovery system.
