    Chinalco Will Invest Largest Bauxite in Indonesia

    (China Aluminum Network) According to Chinalco that the company will invest the largest bauxite in Indonesia, Chinalco Hongkong Branch has signed a joint venture agreement with INDONUSA on Aug 24th, both parties will joined efforts in developing bauxite resource and building alumina factory in Kalimantan through the establishment of joint venture.


    But it did not release the investment amount. Reuters reported three Chinese alumina manufacturers will invest aluminum ore bauxite and refinery in Indonesia with at least one billion dollars, the three companies are Chinalco, Bosai Group and Weiqiao Pioneering.


    Indonesia government announced at least 14 kinds of minerals will started nonexportation entirely since 2014, including bauxite, this will increase the pressure of domestic alumina importers. 60% of Chinese bauxite was depend on import while Indonesia with rich bauxite, Chinalco enhanced the bauxite investment in Indonesia was considered as to ensure raw material.


    INDONUSA’s business includes bauxite, gold ore, manganese ore, trade, financial service and information industry, possesses exploration right and mining right of several bauxites in Kalimantan.


    It is reported that the mine lot was located near Pontianak, West Kalimantan, close to Kapuas and the South China Sea, with convenient traffic
