Factory price of non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling products rose by 0.6% year on year in May

In May 2008, the Producer Price Index (PPI) for China's industrial products rose by 8.2 percent over the same month last year, and the purchase price of raw materials, fuel and power rose by 11.9 percent.

The factory price of non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling products increased by 0.6%, copper by 0.6%, and lead by 11.3%, while aluminium dropped by 2.4% and zinc by 25.6%.

In addition, in the purchase price of raw materials, fuel and power, the purchase price of fuel power, ferrous materials, nonferrous metals and chemical materials respectively rose by 21.0%, 22.1%, 3.4% and 6.2% year-on-year.
