Chinalco Buy Bauxite From Indonesia in Q4 Still Undecided

(China Aluminum Network) Principal of Chinalco Shandong Branch said there were several shipments of mineral delivered to Hongkong from Indonesia, but the quota of bauxite in Q4 still undecided, now was in the state of negotiation.

It is learned that according to July, after Indonesia up-regulated export tariff by 20% of bauxite domestic average mineral price increased nearly $5/ton. In terms of domestic mineral price which was kept balance in August.

The operated capacity for Shandong Lubei Chemical Co., Ltd was 50 tons now, the idled 50 tons will not recovery in short term. Since Indonesia imposed restrictions on bauxite export, Lubei mainly depended on the original bauxite stock, and started import from Indonesia in July.

Domestic alumina enterprises were suffered difficulties at present, domestic alumina price also weaked, it is said that the price in Shanxi and Guangxi was lower than 2500 yuan/ton. Though  alumina price in Shandong and Henan was dropped, still can stay at 2550-2600 yuan/ton.
