Industry Experts Probe into Aluminum Price

(China Aluminum Network) Today the 2012 (7th) Shanghai Copper and Aluminum Summit was held in Shanghai which was host by SMM and Shanghai Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association. SMM did a survey on aluminum price before this summit most enterprises said aluminum price will shake between 15,500 and 16,5000 yuan per ton in short terms, yearly aluminum price will keep at 15,500-17,300 yuan/ton.

Ruan Songnian said aluminum price will not drop at present but also hard to rise. Aluminum traders and smelters all in the state of deficit now since cost support that aluminum price will not lower than 15,900 yuan/ton. Economic downturn, downstream real estate and depressed automobile market in domestic all limited aluminum price rise space.

Manager Du from Hunan SNTO Marketing Co., Ltd stated that the whole industry was in hard times, mainly because of the Greece debt which was solved temporary. In short terms aluminum price was likely to drop again but only with slight range, on the other side it was also hard to rise. Aluminum price will between 15,900 and 16,500 yuan/ton in 2-3 months in domestic.

Xue Wenpeng who is the vice president of Huang He Xin Ye Co., Ltd held that aluminum price will keep at 15,500-16,500 yuan/ton in short terms. Yu Yiwen thought that aluminum price will keep at 15,500-17,300 yuan/ton this year, real estate market may rebound gradually. The five investment banks also joined and discussed about copper and aluminum price.
