It is understood from Qingtong city government recently that State development and reform commission approved the cooperation project between qingtongxia aluminum and India alapula mining and chemical company and built a alumina refinery in India. The project is so far the largest foreign investment project, as well as china’s largest investment project in India.
India has abundant aluminum resource, with 3,031 billion tons, ranking fifth in the world. Qingtongxia aluminum is the second largest aluminum products manufacture. Cooperated with India alapula company, this investment project is the first alumina project. The total investment in the project is 5.04 billion yuan, a joint venture period of 30 years. The project and mine are in Banbuji, with aluminum resource of over 80 million tons that can meet the building requirement of 1 million tons.

Some official of qingtongxia development and reform commission introduced that the annual output of electrolytic aluminum has reached 430,000 tons, with an annual demand of 900,000 tons of alumina raw material. With the growing shortage and price of alumina raw material, the inadequate supply of raw materials has become a bottleneck restricting the development of enterprise. In order to solve this problem, the company creatively runs a material workshop abroad. This not only deals with the shortage of raw materials, but also created a new business model for domestic enterprises to go abroad and make use of foreign resources to develop. Source:
