Aluminum Demand May Raised 5%-10% This Year in China

(China Aluminum Network) Li Chong who is the chairman of Shenhuo Group which is Chinese large-scale aluminum processing enterprise expected that in 2012 the development speed for China aluminum smelting industry may dropped to the lowest level in three years, while aluminum demand will increased 5%-10% compared with last year.

He said that domestic aluminum smelting industry now was in the state of serious oversupply and under the pressure of high inventory. Affected by slow growing prospect, Shenhuo Group planed to adjust their production object from 700 thousand tons to 600 thousand tons. He also added Chinese aluminum smelting industry will proceed intergration weed out backward capacity within 3 to 5 years.
