China is considering to purchase BHP Billiton Ltd’s share with an approaching scheme, but Chinese government hasn’t decided which state-owned financial organization or steel producer heads the project, said The Australian in its Wednesday edition.
Chalco partnered with Alcoa Inc. in buying into 12 per cent of Rio’s London-listed share for $14.05 billion earlier this year, accounting for 9 per cent of the total Rio share.
China is considering to buy a larger stake in BHP, trying to avoid the latter’s hostile bid for Rio, who has rejected the stalk, sources released.
