Tighter regulations on China exports

According to Metal Bulletin, Beijing is rumoured to be looking at introducing even tighter regulations on exports of aluminium fabricated products in a further bid to restrain exports of downstream products.
But moves to limit exports of high-value added products are said to be unlikely in the short term.
Other measures further downstream are starting to bite.
Authorities have cancelled the VAT export tax rebate on aluminium pipe and imposed a 15% tax on some aluminium bar and rod.
But, always according to the magazine, rumours are now circulating that further efforts will be made to curb the export of semis products. Source:
