China is considering to bring down the value-added tax rebate on exports for aluminum products such as aluminum tube, sheet and strip to 5% from 11-13% since June this year, released from a industry player.

Experts said related exports will decline in the latter half and primary aluminum consumption will also decrease if Chinese government reduces the rate on half-finished aluminum products.

Chinese government is trying to cool investments in resource-intensive aluminum industry by calling off export preference, but currently it doesn’t take effect.

There is also saying that Chinese government aims at largely reducing exports of low value-added products and primary metals products, reining the trade surplus from the easily achievable way of reducing exporting aluminum products.
