(China Aluminum Network) In 2011 alumina import on a declining curve in Qinghai Province.

First of all, with the improving alumina deliverability in domestic leads to less import demand. From January to July, China alumina output reached to 20,460 thousand tons increased 18.9%, at the same period production of electrolytic aluminium reached to 10,190 thousand tons also increased 6.7%.

The second one is affected by aluminum price went up and alumina price on higher side overseas in the second quarter, so the price gap hit to 400-500 usd/ton at home and abroad. Owing to this many enterprises buy from domestic and reduce import. At present aluminum price fell and import recovered as usual.

The last one is Qinghai Qiaotou Aluminum&Power Co., Ltd is the main importer of alumina and this company has to negotiated buying price again next year. Then since the increasing alumina price overseas and improving alumina production and quality in domestic, enterprises will turn to domestic market and aluminum import will largely decreased next year.
