China Oct Alumina Imports Surged Compared with Sep

(China Aluminium Network) China’s alumina imports in October increased substantially compared with September, an analyst from a Beijing brokerage firm said. If the price of alumina continues to stay weak, the import volume for China might grow further.

“The Chinese aluminium producers hope to import high grade alumina. Therefore, if the foreign price is lower than the domestic market, they will import more alumina.”

China’s alumina imports in October reached 261,350 tons which was much higher than Sep’s 80.421 tons.
