China Non-ferrous Metal Industry Association(CNIA)recently paid a visit to Istanbul, Turkey on invitation to attend the trade negotiation related with aluminum sheet and foil held for the two countries.
TALSAD grumbled the surging growth in aluminum sheet and foil exported from China to Turkey, pressing the Turkey government as well as requiring China to limit the exported volume.
CNIA has stated that they will start industry self-discipline and other measures to avoid intensifying the conflicts between the two countries. It also agreed Turkey’s proposal for a further negotiation in Beijing next month.
CNIA has required the industry players in the sector to suspend approval formalities for exporting large-amount but low value-added aluminum sheets and foils to Turkey.
Customs data shows that the volume of aluminum sheets and foils China exported to Turkey lat year is 19,528 tons, up 65.5% to the previous year. Export volume on Aluminum foil is 11,194 tons, up 117.2% compared with a year ago and accounting for 3.4% of the total exported volume of aluminum foil.
