Aluminum Import Volume Increasing Sharply in China

(China Aluminum Network) According to CRU that China will import over 1000 thousand tons aluminum each year till 2020. CRU expected that owing to the appreciation of the RMB and price rise in energy, labour force and raw materials will largely weaken China aluminum industry competitiveness. China is the world largest aluminum producer and consumer account for 40% of global trade volume. CRU stated in 2020 aluminum net import of China will increase to 1400 thousand tons while last year just reached to 70 thousand tons. In the next decade, output in China will behind the demand and in short supply, so other manufacturers will replace China. CRU also said that China aluminum import volume will still under 200 thousand tons before 2015.
