CNMC to Expand Investment in Zambia

(China Aluminium Network) China Nonferrous Metal Mining Co.,Ltd(CNMC) plans to invest $ 2 billion in Zambia from 2011 to 2015, which equals to the total amount CNMC had invested in the past 12 years.
Part of the investment would be put into infrastructure construction and public welfare work, vice general manager of CNMC Tao Xinghu said.
CNMC have established nine enterprises in Zambia since its first investment in 1998 in this country. CNMC has provided 12500 jobs to the local people. It has become the largest Chinese investor in Zambia.
Tao said he’s very optimistic about CNMC’s future development in Zambia. So far, CNMC have invested about $120 million in Zambia’s infrastructure construction and $ 10 million in donations and sponsorships.
