    China Imported 12,712t Aluminum in Feb, Export Down

    Beijing, March 24—General Administration of Customs in China reported today that China exported 2,372 tons aluminum in February this year, down 89.9% on the year, while primary aluminum importing totaled 12,712 tons, up 197.7% on the year.

    China imported 136,243 tons refined copper in February, declining 8.3% comparing with the same period last year.

    Data shows that China imported 13,042 tons refined nickel in February, up 7.9% on the year; refined lead exported at 6,503 tons, down 6.8% on the year; refined zinc exported at 6,679 tons, down 86% on the year.

    China, the largest copper consumer in the world, takes up 25% of the global demand, and her copper output takes 20% of the global output, coming just behind Chile.
