    Rio Seeks More Partnership Chances with Sate-run Chinese Firms

    Rio Tinto will seek more cooperative opportunities with Chinese state-run corporations, said Tom Albanese, president of Rio on Saturday.

    Albanese said in a interview in Beijing that, “but there are still no specific moves, and this is only my opinion.”

    “we will seek a larger range in partnering with Chinese companies.”

    The Australia-based mining giant has extend partnership with Shougang group of China.

    Albanese also noted that Chalco’s investment in Rio should be an example for Chinese firms to follow in exploring overseas markets.

    Xiao, Yaqing, president of Chalco, said last week the company might raise the stake in Rio after negotiating with Alcoa.

    Albanese said he will meet major shareholders of Chalco in this Beijing journey, while except Xiao, Yaqing. Source:
