Aluminum & Copper Producers Buck Market's Slide

The DJ Aluminum and Nonferrous metals indices are up 1% while the Dow tumbles to a near triple digit decline after 30 minutes of trading. Credit Suisse issued a positive report on the base metals. The firm increased its copper and aluminum price estimates by 18% and 20% respectively. Credit Suisse upgraded Aluminum Corp of China (ACH -2%) to Buy and Alcoa (AA +1%) was reinstated with an Outperform rating. China freshened the tailwind for aluminum by haling export tax benefits for aluminum tubing to curb exports according to Bloomberg News.On the nonferrous side, BHP, FCX and RTP are 1% gainers in early trading.
