Guangxi Yinhai Aluminum Cuts Total Output by 190,000tons/year

China’s Guangxi Yinhai Aluminum has slashed its total smelting output from 450,000 tons/year to 190,000tons/year due to the current power shortages, a company source said Friday.

The company has cut annual output by 50% to 20,000tons in Baise. Meanwhile, its smelting plant in Laibin also had a cutback by 40% to 25,000tons.

The company received notice of power cut in August and started to shut down its potlines gradually in mid-september.
