Domestic Annual Electrolytic Aluminum Output will reach 18 Million Tons

[China Aluminum Network] August 4, The Department of Public Letter estimated on its official website that domestic electrolytic aluminum would reach 18 million tons up by 13% in the corresponding period previous year. Some uncertain factors such as high area electricity price may also affect electrolytic aluminum output.

The Department of Public Letter predicates that as the consumption season for aluminum is coming ,especially our country stopping the proposed electrolytic aluminum may lead to aluminum price rising. Aluminum enterprises probably enhance their efficiency in the second half year.

Department of Public Letter points out that domestic electrolytic aluminum price stay low at present. Owing to the excess production capacity in the first half year, electrolytic aluminum price keeps low compared with other short-handed metals such as copper and nickel.Additionally, with the growing domestic electricity price, electrolytic aluminum cost rising constantly thus leading to increasing pressure for electrolytic aluminum enterprises. Preliminary estimation shows that fifteen provinces has increased electricity price in June.

According to data form Department of Public Letter, our domestic electrolytic aluminum output reaches 8.69 million tons in the first half year up by 4.4% over the same period. However compared with 15.7% increasing rate during the Eleventh five-year period, it drops significantly.
