Chinalco Signed Contract with Mongolia¡¯s State-owned Mining Enterprise

[China Aluminum Network] July 28, Mongolia’s state-owned mining enterprise---Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi announced that it has signed a $0.25 billion coal sales contract with Chinalco, it will sale coal in Tsankhi area to Chinalco .

The statement also points out that Chinalco plans to resale 30% of the above coal to Japan’s Itochu house and MITSUI & CO., LTD.as well as KORES in south Korea.

Chinalco is currently the second largest supplier of alumina and the third largest electrolytic aluminum provider as well as the fifth largest aluminum processing supplier in the world. It copper industry general strength ranks first in nationwide . At present, the company consists of seven business divisions, namely, aluminum, copper, rare earth, engineering technology, mining resources, overseas market and trade division.

Chinalco total capital reaches 354.55 billion Yuan and have 240,000 employees as well as 64 subordinating enterprises. In 2009, it had once again among the 500 top companies in the world with 7.78 million tons of alumina, 3.44 million tons of aluminum and aluminum alloy, 609,500 tons of aluminum processing material. The copper processing material and refined copper reached 142,800 tons and 294,100 tons respectively.
