Since after the spring festive, electrolytic aluminum enterprises that use aluminum as a major raw material entered normal production one after another, China's alumina market demand become stronger. Yesterday, the China Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd will raise spot price of alumina from 3600 Yuan/ton up to 3900 Yuan/ton. The industry believes that the price of aluminum (19,580, -50, -0.25%.) will continue to rise depending on the current market.
It is known that Alumina prices had remained at 3950 Yuan/ton to 4000 Yuan/ ton before the adjustment of Chinese aluminum price. Especially after the Spring Festival, the aluminum prices increase rapidly, Tianjin, Rizhao and other ports, such as alumina CIF price has reported 4,350 Yuan/ ton.

Haitong nonferrous metals analyst Yang Hongjie considered that alumina price adjustment of China Aluminum is a surprise to the current global alumina market. However, look at the present demand of China's alumina, the price is still quite reasonable. It is mainly because China is still an alumina importing country, and electrolytic aluminum output of 1-2, 2007 increased by 35.4% year-on-year, therefore, alumina demands also increased greatly.
