Chinese aluminum scrap imports in June up by 7pct MoM

Recently, China’s Custom released the initial statistics of the country’s aluminum scrap imports in June. The country imported 240,000 tonnes of aluminum scrap in June increased by 6.7% from a month earlier. Also, it soared by 7.1% YoY.

In addition, the data also showed that China’s totaled aluminum scrap imports in the H1 of this year were 1.26 million tonnes decreased by 9.3% YoY.

For the prospect, it’s estimated that China’s aluminum scrap imports would have chance to raise further due to stable demand and decreasing price gap between local offers and foreign materials.
