Chinese Aluminum Output Continues Fast-Growing Space in Early 2008

JP Morgan said on Wednesday, Chinese alumina imports increase sharply, indicating that Chinese aluminum output is continuing its fast-growing space in early 2008.

China imported 660,000 tonnes alumina in January, rose by 13.3% year on year, "which obviously indicated that domestic aluminum output is to increase sharply."

However the snowstorm happened in South China in January and February caused damage to smelter's output, which is likely to offset the increase.
