Yunnan aluminum plans to build an 80million tons alumina refinery in May

(China Aluminum Network) May 5, Yunnan aluminum plans to build a new alumina refinery, the annul capacity will reaches 80million tons, and will be put into the market in June. At first, this project was decided to build in 2010, but owing to the delay of market and technology, the establishment and operation of this refinery will mark that it is the first tome for Yunnan Aluminium Company to invest in alumina production. “We plan to test the market in May, and will formally put it into market in June. The following months will continuously improve the production efficiency, and enlarge capacity. Thus, this year’s actual production will reach 30million tons or so. The total output of next year will reach 80million tons.” according to sources in this company At present, the annual 50 million tons of alumina the company needed mainly relies on overseas imports and domestic purchasing. The production of alumina of this refinery only meets its own demand.
