Chinalco, Sapa Group set up first aluminium processing joint venture

(China Aluminium Network) It was reported that Chinalco and the world’s largest aluminium processing company Sweden Sapa Group would set up joint venture, cooperate with each other to research and develop varied special aluminium for chinese high-end rail transportation.
Xiong Weiping, GM of Chinalco told the reporter that the cooperation is the company’s first sino-foreign joint venture project of aluminium processing industry. The initial expected investment of the new joint venture touches 630,000,000 Yuan, mainly production of 12,000 tons casting machine production line and body module processing line. The initial project is expected to be completed within two years and put into production in 2013. The annual capacity of rail transportation aluminium and car body modules is expected to reach 20,000 tons.
