Qualicoat Workshop in Nanhai, China

55 representatives, delegates from famous aluminum companies in China like GAluminium, FengLu, GuangYa, JMA,Kam Kiu, Silver100, JinXieCheng, WeiYe, YiHua etc.  and the well-known and Qualicoat approved coating and chemical suppliers Akzo-Nobel, Chemetall, Henkel and SurTec following the invitation by GSTC Ltd. Hong Kong having initiated and organized the workshop.
The speakers for Qualicoat where Mr. Riccardo Boi from Qualital (Technical Director of Qualicoat) Mr. Marc Holz (Technical Committee Qualicoat Germany) andMr. Michael Mueller from the German testing Institute IFO GmbH. The meeting was organized and lead by Mr. James Jiang from GSTC. Mr. Jiang supplied the representatives with a Chinese translation of the Qualicoat specifications and worked as interpreter for the foreign speakers.

Mr. Riccardo Boi first introduced the organization, mission, present situation, requirements of Qualicoat and the licensing process for Qualicoat. He informed about the history of Qualicoat, the international Network and about the increasing demand for high quality products in the market. Mr. Mueller introduced the planned organization structure of Qualicoat China which was agreed by the audience. Mr.Holz introduced the alternative  pre-treatment with hexavalent-chrome free systems,the quality requirements of powder coating systems and how to improve the corrosion resistance by different pre-treatment.

In the afternoon, the suppliers presented the up-to-date technologies and products respectively. In the following discussion the participants communicated and discussed deeply with the Qualicoat specialists and suppliers face to face.

The workshop showed a high interest in the Qualicoat Specifications for a quality Label for Paint, Aluminum Lacquer and Powder Coatings for Architectural Applications. Several Representatives expressed their interest to join Qualicoat China and start with the qualification Process to gain the Quality Label.
