Aluminium Price in 2008 will be Lower than that of 2007

Currently at the ¡° 2008 Maike Base Metal Market Prospect Conference¡±, senior analyst of CRU research center Wan Ling notes that aluminium price of 2008 is predicted to be lower by USD 270/t than average price of 2007, up to USD 2453/t. Meanwhile strong demand in China enables high-cost aluminium plant to be running well and continues to give support for LME aluminium price. Despite of strong demand in China, the global electrolyze aluminium will have a surplus of 900,000t in 2008 mostly because production increases faster than consumption.
