The spokesman of German government Rodolfo claimed on 19th that German hoped a relaxation on one proposal of EU, which was to reduce the customs duties from 6% to 3%in non-alloy aluminum and dated back its operation to Jan 1, 2007. he showed that the state has put forward a compromise.
Comprehensive news agency reported on March 19, German government spokesman Rudolph (Rainer Rudolph) claimed on the 19th that German hoped a relaxation on one proposal of EU, which was to reduce the customs duties from 6% to 3%in non-alloy aluminum .
The European Commission proposed in January that the customs duties of non-alloy aluminum will be reduced from 6% to 3% and dated back its operation to Jan 1, 2007. The committee also called for abolishing of customs duties before 2009.
Rudolph said that the German government has proposed a compromise, which content is not the proposal of retroactive to the effective date on January 1. The program also appealed to the European Commission should reconsider before complete repeal the import tax before 2009. Germany is the current EU rotating presidency.
Currently, Poland is the main country calling for a reduction of the import duty. The reason for this is that the country is heavily dependent on Russian aluminum manufacturer in aluminum imports. However, the proposal has been against in Germany, France, Spain and other countries that have a large number of aluminum enterprises.
